i am having my wedding/reception in a georgeous historic mansion. however, the mansion does not allow candles or open flames of any kind, and i really don't like those fake candles. if anyone has any ideas on how to get a beautiful, romantic lighting affect without candles (or fake candles) i would very much appreciate the help!

You might want to try some white Christmas lights. Maybe twinkling lights. I'm having an outdoor wedding/reception, and that's what I'm doing for a lot of my lighting. If you just used them in a few places that would probably be very pretty and work out for you.

Did you ask about putting a dimmer switch on some of the lamps they may have at your venue? That would probably be you only option.
